Did this occur after turning on any lights? Did you make any sudden movements? Piranhas can stress very easily, sounds like it got scared by something.

Nothing changed at all. The lights were already off and I was just watching sitting on the couch watching tv

Maybe something on the TV scared it?

Maybe it found some food in the tank and went crazy.
Just keep an eye on it - if it happens again see what you were doing to try and draw patterns.
Doesn’t sound like anything to worry about.
