Caught about half dozen young Ancistrus chagresi last week near a rock wall, in the Mamoni river in east central Panama.

They were found in a deep trench of fast flowing water, pH @ 8.2, with undetectable nitrate.
I put 5 in my main 180 gal community tank, and dropped 1 into its heavily planted 125 gal sump/refugium cycling a flow of about 1500 gph.
Where the water enters the sump, there is a lot of turbulence and splash, so algae grows above the water line.
In the shot below, the Pleco is its entire body length above the water line in the cascade.
