I’ve actually kept convict cichlids for years with red belly’s in multiple tanks. Though I do feed them good.

more so when guarding fry,

i bought a small colony years ago to live with 2' Aimara to act as clean up crew, they survived him, big Jag, Group of Piraya... for their size, pretty stout imo.
