I have not made that decision yet. I think I want to keep it all Victorian and from what I have been reading Pundamilia or Rock Kribensis can work with the Astatotilpia.
But the more I look at the tank I am thinking that white or yellow labs would look great against the dark substrate.

Pundamilia nyererei? Very aggressive, I am surprised they would mix OK.

Looks good! Now, pretend that you are addressing someone who knows diddly squat about African rift lake cichlids; what are those guys? :)

Lol. Fair enough I went with two species in this tank. The striped guys are Astatotilpia Latifasciata or Lake Kyoga Zebra

the yellow guys are Labidochromis Caeruleus or more commonly Yellow Labs.

both are fairly common in the hobby but I have never kept them in a two species only tank.

I was driving down a rural road and there was a municipality road crew constructing gabion baskets. I stopped and asked one of the guys if I could buy a few of the rocks they were using. He laughed when I told them what they were for and said just take a few.

Everything seems to be settling in with the new fish. One of the Zebras already coloring up and the dominant yellow lab is gorgeous, bright yellow with well defined black dorsal stripe. Very active group.
