I'm fairly new to keeping large cichlids and have looked up how to sex them and have read just about all the other threads on sexing green terrors. I can't for the life of me tell what sex these two are the first one is around 3 inches and the second one is maybe 2 inches. Thanks for the help!

Both look female, but at that size it's hard to say for sure.

Okay thank you! I appricate the help, and just a few days ago the bigger one had some eggs on a rock I have in the tank but after a few they were gone, I was figuring she would be too small to lay.

I have the same question. Not sure what I've got. Male or female???
I'm leaning towards male
About 5in. And it's about 9months old
Had a nematode out break, during that the dorsal find extension was nipped off, it did extend out past caudal find tho by about .125". He just started eating again and sunken belly is improving quickly, no more white poop.

That's a stunner of a male there. When he gets some size and his dorsal grows back holy cow!
