Triple Crown

Award-

Points- 5000

Requirements- A member must have earned a gold tier award of at least three categories. Eligible awards counted towards the Triple Crown are the the Gold Monster Fish Keeper award, Gold Academic awards, Gold Contributor award, Gold Aquaculturist award and Gold Photography award.

Citation- For exceptionally meritorious actions in the Monster Fish Keepers community, for unprecedented actions in forging new frontiers in the breeding of new species of fish or species of fish never bred in captivity before and for the greatest possible dedication to providing a superb environment in which their fish can live, this member is recognized with the highest award that can be issued to a member of Monster Fish Keepers. This member's dedication to the improvement of the site and to providing for the fish in their care reflects the greatest possible credit on this member, the site and the hobby.

AWARDS FOR LARGE TANKS

MFK's Gold Medal

Award-

Points- 1000

Requirements- A member should have a tank of over 2500 gallons OR a total cumulative aquarium volume of over 5000 gallons.

Citation- For going to the extreme in providing the largest of aquariums possible, this member ensures that their monster fish truly have the capacity to become Monsters. As such, this member is recognized as a Gold Monster Fish Keeper.

MFK's Silver Medal

Award-

Points- 500

Requirements- A member should have a tank of 1000-2499 gallons OR a total cumulative aquarium volume of 2000-4999 gallons.

Citation- For going above and beyond in providing an enormous aquarium for their fish, this member is recognized as a Silver Monster Fish Keeper.

MFK's Bronze Medal

Award-

Points- 200

Requirements- A member should have a tank of 500-999 gallons OR a total cumulative aquarium volume of 1000-1999 gallons.

Citation- For providing housing for their fish above that which is considered normal or average, this member is recognized as a Bronze Monster Fish Keeper.

AWARDS FOR KNOWLEDGE

Esteemed Academic

Award-

Points- 2000

Requirements- For members with a long and outstanding history of engaging in activities that profoundly increase the knowledge base of the community; activities such as original research, collating and publishing new data, bringing new species into the hobby, etc. This award is for members whose activity changes the face of the hobby.

Citation- For a very long history of displaying a vastly superior level of dedication in furthering the knowledge base of the hobby, the site, and the knowledge base of the members of Monster Fish Keepers, this member is recognized as an Esteemed Academic.

Distinguished Academic

Award-

Points- 900

Requirements- For members with a long history of engaging in activities that increase the knowledge base of the community; activities such as original research, collating and publishing new data, bringing new species into the hobby, etc. This is for members who stand apart from other contributors is both quality and quantity.

Citation- For displaying a superior level of dedication in furthering the knowledge base of the hobby, the site, and the knowledge base of the members of Monster Fish Keepers, this member is recognized as a Distinguished Academic.

Notable Academic

Award-

Points- 450

Requirements- For members with a history of engaging in activities that increase the knowledge base of the community; activities such as original research, collating and publishing new data, bringing new species into the hobby, etc.

Citation- For displaying an above average contribution furthering the knowledge base of the hobby, the site, and the knowledge base of the members of Monster Fish Keepers, this member is recognized as a Notable Academic.

AWARDS FOR BREEDING FISH
NOTE: Common Livebearers (guppies, gambusia, Endler's LB, platies, swordtails, and mollies) are not eligible for a Breeder Award on Monster Fish Keepers.

Illustrious Aquaculturist

Award-

Points- 1250

Requirements- A member will have proven to have significantly advanced some aspect of the husbandry of fish by exploring new frontiers of breeding. This will be signified by notable accomplishments such as breeding a species that has not been bred in captivity by a hobbyist before or by demonstrating a long and prolific history of captive breeding fish in order to protect an endangered species or to further the availability of a previously unavailable fish.

Citation- For displaying an unprecedented dedication to advancing the field of fish husbandry by the hobbyist, this member is recognized as a Illustrious Aquaculturist.

Accomplished Aquaculturist

Award-

Points- 750

Requirements- A member who is well known in the fish keeping community as having displayed a proven long, productive, consistent history of running a captive breeding program for several species of fish for no less than two years OR a member who has displayed an ability to successfully breed species considered to be rare or difficult to breed in the hobby.

Citation- For displaying an unwavering dedication to maintaining a successful breeding program over a significant period of time, this member is recognized as an Accomplished Aquaculturist.

Capable Aquaculturist

Award-

Points- 300

Requirements- A member shall have proven that they have intentionally successfully spawned a pair of adult fish, that those adult fish have laid eggs, that the eggs have hatched and that the member successfully raised a significant portion of the fry to adolescence. This must be documented. This will have been accomplished no less than three times.

Citation- For displaying skill and competence in the field of hobbyist fish husbandry, this member is recognized as a Capable Aquaculturist.

Esteemed Contributor

Award-

Points- 1100

Requirements- This award is for members with a very long history of exceptionally consistent gregarious behavior who have shown an ability to sort, collate and link information to allow it to be easily found by the community far better than their peers and who have an exceptionally long history of regularly engaging the community to drive discussions forward.

Citation- For a very long history of displaying a vastly superior level of dedication in furthering the discussions that drive our community as part of the backbone that supports the existence of Monster Fish Keepers, this member is recognized as an Esteemed Contributor.

Distinguished Contributor

Award-

Points- 550

Requirements- This award is for members exceptionally gregarious behavior and who have shown an ability to sort, collate and link information to allow it to be easily found by the community far better than their peers and who have an exceptionally long history of regularly engaging the community to drive discussions forward.

Requirements- A member who has show consistent gregarious behavior, who has contributed to the overall benefit of the hobby, the site and the knowledge base of the community by sorting, collating and linking information and by engaging fellow members in order to drive discussions forward.

Citation- For displaying an above average contribution furthering the discussions that drive our community as part of the backbone that supports the existence of Monster Fish Keepers, this member is recognized as a Notable Contributor.

Award-

Requirements- A member must win both Photograph of the Year and Tank of the Year in the same year's competitions.

Citation- For displaying amazing photography skills in winning both the Photograph of the Year and Tank of the Year in the same year, this member is recognized as a Master Photographer.

Expert Photographer

Award-

Points- 575

Requirements- A member must win either Photograph of the Year or Tank of the Year.

Citation- For displaying excellent photography skills in winning either Photograph of the Year or Tank of the Year.

Skilled Photographer

Award-

Points- 275

Requirements- A member must win either Photograph of the Month or Tank of the Month.

Citation- For displaying above average photography skills in winning either Photograph of the Month or Tank of the Month.
