There is a pond right by my house and the last time I went fishing right at the shore line were hundreds upon hundreds of 1-3 " sun fish. My question is if I were to catch a few net fulls and put them in a 55 gallon for treatment. What can I do to insure they are disease free. Quick Cure and Salt? What would be the time frame they would need to stay in quarantine? This would be awesome if i could use them as free feeders

Is there any concern over all those little spines on thier fins? as far as them injuring the predator they are fed to?

any predator that swallows its prey whole willl eat the fish head-first, thereby negating the problem of having dorsal fin spines stick in its throat

confused, lost, and lonely
I have used them for years and never had a problem except that an 8" brown bullhead tried to eat an 8" sunny and suffocated his greedy self.
