He looks great and his fins are growing back.

They eat like crazy, and seem to be very happy.

I don't know what exactly it is.But it looks like a virus infection and I would treat with an Antibiotic. No salting just antibiotics. I like Penicillin its worked on all kinds of virus infection for me. You can use Amoxicillin, Kanacillin, Metronidazole or Cephalexin which ever antibiotics you can get your hands on.
Viruses do not respond to antibiotics...the only benefits of giving penicillin to the victim of a virus is to combat any possible secondary infection that may arise
