americanus and vermiculatus
redfin and grass pickerels

theyre considered subspecies of one another, both get around 12" tops
I think the grass are better looking esp. you can get the color phase with high contrast markings.

as long as the tankmates are not of edible size i guess...
Hardhitting and large mouthed ambush predators who are otherwise docile, yup, If they are well fed even large bluegills will pester the hell out of them.

your arrows will harass it or eat it, or both.
mine aren't that big yet.

was thinking of trying coz they are getting along fine with the other edible sized monsters in my tank...

they kinda keep to themselves...

and owning an esox is a kinda long time dream of mine...

well, if you dont mind the risk, then by all means go for it, its just I'm pretty sure that's what will happen...

part of the fun of fishkeeping is taking risks. If you have a steady source of esox you can get, then by all means try it. But if you can only get ahold of 1 or 2, then you might wanna avoid it...

yea... which might be the case... would a 400L tank do for one on its own?
