Hi MFKers
I won't type too loudly this Monday after Super Bowl Sunday ;)

Yes, great sized wild Rio Parana collected kelberi were received in top condition. Normally wild kelberi arrive pretty thin from Brazil. Not so these beauties!
While the jumbo 9-10" individuals turned around very quickly, I do have some great md ones average size 5" or so @ 225 ea.
I also received a few piquiti 'azul' of same size/price from R. Parana as well.

Photos below of both sizes for reference.

Here's something really crazy and special. When I learned fisherman collected oscars for one of my shippers from way up north in Rio Branco (Roraima State) near Guyana border, I hoped they would be this fish!
In my aquariums, they are seriously no BS oscars. They are very active, assertive, and exactly the fish that I was hoping to receive. I have never seen them 'in person' until now.
These ultra rare oscars are 5-6" @ 225 ea.

The turquoise severums collected from Santarem are quite a sight.
These are 5-6" @ 75 ea.

I'll call these a really big dwarf cichlid - or how about 'jumbo zebra dwarf acara'?
They are 2-2.5"+ @ 125 pr.

I still think Geophagus sveni takes the cake for most remarkable earth eater.
Wild R. Parana collected adolescent/sub adults of 5-6" are 125 ea.
It appears I haven't saved any photos of 5-6" sized individuals, so here are previously taken pics of smaller sized imports from same river plus some adult photos for reference.

The epitome of cool earth eaters (imho) are the goby-like Retroculus.
Stock received ranges from 2" @ 75, 2.5-3" @ 100, and 3.5-4" @ 125 ea.

Pleco time!
This is the first I have ever seen - let alone imported - the orange cheek pinecone pleco L095 at less than jumbo sized.
These are 4-5" @ 150 ea.

And I'm out of photo posting space in this thread.
Next please :)

These related species as seen below arrived as well, but turned around quickly.
Maybe more next time.

I do have L069 in stock from this recent import. This is another I have never seen in person. They are 2.5" @ 40.00 ea, 4 or more @ 35 ea.

Hypancistus margaritatus L404 2.5-3" @ 50 ea.
Due to remote collection areas, here's another one I'd never seen before in person.

And another rarely seen/imported species also due to remote habitats and highly seasonal collection is L305 Peckoltia braueri 3.5-4" @ 50 ea.

There are so many of other fancy plecos on hand too: galaxy vampire L029, gold vampire L172, three beacon L091, gold nuggets L177 & L018, mango pleco L047, Acan. hystrix L155, and lots more that are all posted at the stock list of my web page.

Tons of goodies to review at the site list from Central and South American cichlids, non-pleco catfish, odd balls.. The beat goes on and on!

I have space for a couple more photos.

Some MFKers have interest in the giant Siamese carp, Catlocarpio siamensis.
I have 4-4.5" sized on hand for 28 ea or 3 or more @ 25 ea.

catlo.siam.jpg

The below market photo was taken in Myanmar when I was there is November.
As you may expect, Siam carp are on their menu as well.
This reminds me, I have lots of photos to share of fish we covet in aquariums and/or would like to keep in our aquariums (Channa and Clarias to name a few) that we saw (and many we enjoyed on our plates) while traveling through Myanmar and Thailand recently. I will try to make a thread of these to share one day soon.

Golden dorado, Salminus brasiliensis of 3.5-4" (this week) at 55 ea or 3 or more @ 50 ea.
In another couple weeks, they will be larger yet. Dorado have a habit of doing that ;)

This is why they are actually a desirable species for aquaculture.
Not to mention that they do indeed taste really good. I can personally attest to this as we caught big ones Rio Uruguay and promptly grilled them. Oh yes!
