will plecos eat eggs

My oscars have laid eggs once but ate they ate their own eggs. They are at it again and will probably lay more. The tank always builds up the green stuff (too close to window) and i want to add an algae eater, will it eat the eggs if the parents don't?

well my flowerhorn bred and when the eggs hatched the left over sticky stuff on the rock which had the eggs on them my pleco sucked all over it till it wss clean. I'm pretty sure the will eat them. don;t take that chance just remove the pleco for aehile to a temp tank.

YES YES YES they will eat anything they come across especially fish eggs !
