The pups showed a little interest in shrimp tonight. The superspot wc gal ate some ... she is probably my most aggressive and least picky ray. Loves to eat. The other wc female was pouncing around but no confirmed eatings. The other cb boy rays came to check it out ... but didn't eat any.

Have given the rays spice themed name to go along with Pepper :)

Superspot female - Cinnamon
Regular female - Nutmeg
Large male - Cloves
smaller male - Chives (reminds me of jeeves, lol)

Offered blackworm soaked sinking wafers today. Nice and small for them, loved the smell, but didn't spot any eating them, only checking it out. Any tips on breaking? I'd like to get them feeding on pellets before we go on vacation in July for ease of the raysitters!

I would soak the pellets in whatever their favorite food is then mix the two together and hope for the best. It will take some time. Or you could starve them a few days, soak the pellets the same way and give pellets only. Just keep in mind, if you give their favorite after getting them on pellets they may go on a hunger strike for the good stuff. Don't know if I would go pellets only long term some people do. Sure would be easier.

I'd like them to eat a variety of foods .. hoping for the best as they are motoro, notorious for not being picky.

Thank you for the advice. Looks like I'm on the right track ... I have been mixing worms with blackworms (All are on worms except Chives, the smaller male) ... tried this with shrimp and fish too. They are always curious at the food but I don't see them do anything but search for blackworms around the food, blowing into the sand, LOL.

I'll keep trying. I haven't tried starving yet, but have tried offering them less of their favorite foods and more of the desired food.

When I fed only worms today, Chives showed some interest. May have even eaten one, but couldn't tell. It wasn't a long lived interest, but I'm more hopeful now.

Cinnamon and Nutmeg (WC females) are actively eating fresh fish now. They seemed to go crazy over it. So crazy, that Cloves seemed competitive, but no confirmed feedings. Curiosity is where it seems to start though. Chives remained at the other end of the tank. He is my most picky eater.
