Thanks for all that najib.. been thinking cos of the power cuts, if it is wise to invest in these.. the pothos plants seem to be working fine.. and they are thriving.. so might put in a couple more and try to keep it natural.. thanks again.. cheers

hey najib.. sorry..been a little busy i couldn't take a look.. pothos is what we call money plant.. they can grow in soil or water.. they take the nutrients from the soil or water.. here in my case they absorb the nutrients from the water and are growing quiet a bit..and i feel the brown algae issue i had has drastically been cut down.. i've read several articles on using them for filtration.. some on mfk i think.. just google or search on the site.. cheers :)

p.s. the rings are sold out.

Kaya,

I just joined MFK and yours was the first thread I have been reading. I am trying to get back into getting an aro.

Very nice work, my friend. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

Sorry bout the video.. 2 megapixel BB Curve :).. I've been a little too tied with work so i'm gradually cutting down on my glass tanks due to levels of maintenance required. I moved a bunch of fish from my 120 G to the sump.. the TSN is like 14" now.. so hopefully post another 10" will move him into the main pond.. Red devils have claimed one area of the sump as theirs.. Aros and RTC are doing wonderful.. chunkier day by day.. my silver dollar count is goin down :) quick snack for the biggies.. started with 14 and now its just 9 and they've grown too.. Oscars laid eggs a few days back but didn't last..Jags are doing great too..

Hi,
I use one of these Boyu garden filters the one with the UV installed. I removed there plastic bio balls and filled the bottom chamber with ceramic rings I think these work better. Take care of the inlet/outlet pipes they break off easily I think the sun brittle's them very quickly.

I painted mine with A1 pond paint from the UK the leaching issue will haunt you otherwise.

Good luck..
