They're mine, too! Blues are such cool fish!

Tonight her belly was flattened so I fed her again. I busted out my Galaxy Note and took a video of her eating. I gave her a strip of very well rinsed salmon.

Make sure you watch in 1080!

I'm gonna get some more pics with the Nikon soon to show how well she's healing. I'm very pleased with her progress.

I know salmon is messy and oily. It is also extremely nutritious. The way I handle this in order to keep her water clean so she can heal up from the damage she suffered during the seining is frequent water changes. I normally wait an hour or so after she's done eating so she's well settled and won't regurgitate her food. I'll then do another water change about 12 hours later. Then another about 12 hours after that. I'll then let her go 24-36 hours in clean, medicated (Melafix and API salt) water until her belly goes flat and she's hungry.

By doing this, the water stays flawless and she's healing quite well. :)

Some new Nikon pics of Marilyn. To be honest, I'm absolutely shocked at how quick and how well this fish is healing.

I think she's already putting on mass. :D

She's also healing phenomonally well. I came home from work tonight after pulling a 24 hour shift to find that I practically didn't recognize Marilyn. Her color had gotten both darker and richer and the numerous scratches that were covering her body were practically gone.

I am continually impressed by this fish. :)

Here's some new pics from tonight...

"I'm ready for my close up!" If you blow this picture up full size in a new window, you can actually very clearly see her teeth.

The net handle is there so that she couldn't hide under the sponge filter/powerhead in the shadows.

Look at how well her tail is healing! This pic is also the only one I got that clearly shows her right side; she wasn't cooperating tonight.
