The ones with the black stripe along the lateral line is Neo Stracheyi (blue). The long pointy ones resemble a putitora (golden) even though the color don't look right to me.
My Neos in the outside pond are 18" and still growing. Wes would be a better expert on mahseers.

He really does seem to enjoy the company. Hope when my Armatus and blackberries get large enough to add to my main setup that my VATF is as excepting and appreciative.
You guys do know that you guys are poisoning me with Characins. I always liked them but I never really realized the variety and sizes that were available. I am like the little girl on the AT&T commercial " I need more, I want more"

If this question is about the dorado, I'd very much like to know this as well. In the wild, dorados are a natural predator for cichla.

Im really not surprised to hear that. Dorado have bigger the size, and 5x the aggression. Not like they need the size anyway, ive heard a 3" dorado kill a 10" bass.

I know right, seems odd, this guy seems to be very passive. Haven't seen a single nipped fin yet.

Doesn't seem as confrontational as the Frankys but it's probably a little early to tell yet....

There used to be a guy on here with a 300g tank that kept his dorado with cichla and various cichlids. All very large fish.
I believe he had problems between the dorado and an orino, but it was so long ago, I don't really remember.

are you putting water conditioner in the new water from your drip system. I have two 420 gallon tanks with drip system and every night I add pond prime to the tanks and I change 100 gallons a day. The pond prime winds up coasting a lot less than regular prime because it is more concentrated and it removes ammonia and nitrates that could be your problem
