Getting a little ahead of myself but considering I will have the room in the tank I was thinking of making a DIY tree stump. Wanted to do something around a foot in diameter. I am stumped (no pun intended) on how to go about making one. I have seen smaller diameter ones already made by other people but was wondering if anyone had advice on what materials would be good.

Looking for ideas on a core, exterior that can be shaped to look like a tree stump and paint that would be safe.

Anyone with experience want to help me out?

Polygem--is an industry secret. After sculpting with it, you can paint with acrylic paints and then apply a coat of fish safe clear epoxy paint (which Polygem also sells). Some of the biggest players in the industry use Polygem in creating their fantastic backgrounds and decorations.

Check out their gallery--you'll a big TV name there...

btw, Jrt uses Polygem...
