Just realized.. Looks like your young Menarambo were part of their welcoming committee!

I lost my Perch to over eating a cause of death for 5 perches with me thus far. I had some Chuatsi and after extremely large meals they went extremely pale and seemed to suffocate despite no blockage that I could see. The same was the case with the Scherzeri though I did have him for a year before his passing on.Is that Korean Perch still with you? I'm curious how you're keeping him. I've always read cooler temps but want to work one into a tropical community.
I've seen Jekyll and Hyde get to that state on numerous occasions. Between their loud grunting and odd habits and night and day personalities they're really awesome fish, underrated if you ask me. Jekyll's a puppy dog and thus far has never eaten anything but pellets, Hyde on the other hand lives up to his name dispatching fish randomly. So far he's eaten 3 American Dats(in one sitting), 3 Red Spot Severums, 3 Dovii, Florida Gar and a Partridge in a pear tree. They're also the last fish I got from Rich/Infinite Aquatics.Although would probably think they are dead at first glance,I love that shot of the catfish lying together.
that loud grunting was prob x-rated.. look closely and u'll see the male's thickened part of the anal fin (genital stuff) inserting into the female.. if u still have this pair, u could be the first (i think) to spawn these guys in captivity!I've seen Jekyll and Hyde get to that state on numerous occasions. Lol! The grunting does occur at night..........Usually I write off the grunting as territorial disputes as they do share the same fake log, more of a stay on your side thing. I will say though I never even gave thought to breeding them, perhaps it's something I should look into; though it would've been better to try when I still had 4 of them. Guess I'll start doing a little research to see what I can find on Driftwood cat breeding.
