I was wondering what tank mates would be good to have with a firemouth. I was hoping to have another cichlid that doesn't really need a territory.my tank is a 45 gallon tank I've read up about sajicas but not sure if what I've read is true. Although I know that it has to be over 3 inches but I think I'd be only allowed to put about 5.5 inches max. I don't want it over crowded because its un fair on fish.

Sajica should be ok with a firemouth in a 45g. Other good cichlids would be rainbows, and HRPs. You could add a school of swordtails, mollies, or some tetras.

blood parrot...I Have 1 in a 40b with a female fm...they act as a pair:) any more than 2 cichlids (or hybrids ) is a risk ..imo..in a tank that size

Firemouth pairs can be nasty, even if their reputation is that they are all bluff. I have a small pair (not breeding, they just hang out together) in a 210 gallon, and they regularly gang up on much larger cichlids. Nothing serious, but in a smaller tank I'd be concerned that they would harass the lone cichlid you add to the mix (unless it was something larger/more aggressive and could take care of itself, but then the small tank size might become the main issue in terms of compatibility).

Firemouths can be very aggressive in pairs or cowering whimps by themselves... My suggestion is to keep two breeding pairs in that tank with a couple of smaller catfish... i.e. talking cats. Its usually hard to get the balance right with other cichlid species... Sajica can be nasty, Keyholes or Blue Acaras can be to soft. I currently have a smaller male Steindachneri mixing well with my large 7" breeding pair of Meeki.

Really blood parrots are like Red Devils they at least need 100 gallon

No they don't a single blood parrot in a 40 is fine, heck 2-3 should be fine. Blood parrots aren't like Red Devils
