Haha! Boy, naming him what you did is almost serendipitous lol. I can't think of a more perfect name for that fish! I do love him!

I also have been following along, but missed the missing adipose.

Everyone was too enthralled with this fish to bother with such a small detail.

Naming it Robert Paulsen may have been a bad move, he's gonna try the fish equivalent of blowing something up then get shot

Seriously though he's an awesome fish

Robert has a new room mate. He's got Robert by about an inch. Robert's currently going through bouts of little man syndrome and is having a pretty negative attitude towards the whole idea. If he continues and the new Brassy doesn't hold his ground the Franky will be reintroduced and hopefully the result will be positive chaos and eventual respect for one another. Maybe I'm crazy. :screwy: How do you know unless you try? :nilly:

Been a rough road regarding Dorado the last month or so.

Robert wasn't having another Dorado in his tank. He beat up the new Brassy pretty bad and showed no signs of stopping.

So...... I added the Franky. Just like I hoped the Brassys teamed up. The Franky was cowering in the floating plants after the first week. Seemed during this time aggression between the Brassys died off. I then removed the Franky, but scared that they would go right back to their old ways I introduced a peacekeeper - a big clown knife (almost 2').

Has been several weeks since and the new Brassy is almost entirely healed up and they seem to be playing nice, at least they aren't removing scales and tearing fins anymore. Let's just hope it stays this way........

I've NEVER gotten 2 Frankies to live together without aggression (missing scales, torn fins). So I'm going to go ahead and lean towards Brassy's being more tank mate tolerant then Frankies based on the fact that Robert lives in harmony with his tank mates, when the Franky caused problems, the fact that 2 Brassys are swimming in there together without messing with tank mates kind of reinforces that in my eyes. :)

Nice update. My new dorado from rapps seems to fine with some tank mates but hates a giant gourami I have.

I always had decent luck with Frankies till they hit a foot or so. Have yet to find any fish that Robert didn't work with aside from the Franky. My Frankie picks on anything it's in with, BUT I did have a Frankie that played nice......

I think it all comes down to the individual fish, but I do think odds of things working favor the Brassys more then the Frankies, but who knows, maybe time/availability will disprove.

Update......

The 2 Brassies are still together. Despite the new guy getting a few nips here and there things seem to be going well. For the most part they act inseparable. Unfortunately they seem to enjoy using team work to pester other tank mates. Right now seems to be a clash of attitudes as the Armatus doesn't like backing down. The proposed solution - even the odds. Will add a few more Armatus soon. ;)
