I'm Where I'm At
it's not conspiracy itself that i'm questioning. more recently I would call the bad judging controversial, not exactly conspiracy.

but what i'm questioning in this thread is that some believe the fighters may be paying the judges/refs. not that it absolutely can't happen. but I think it's on par with saying I think Ben Affleck is working with ISIS. I can't prove it, but I believe Affleck is a sneaky bastard who may do something like that

and if there is controversy, why would they favor Floyd? isn't the rematch clause only in his favor? if he wins he doesn't have to rematch. if he loses, then pac is obligated to rematch. that's why I said a conspiracy, if any, would favor pac. the rematch and potential rubber match would rake in millions upon millions more.

btw, a great fight doesn't need to end in a knock out. there are tons of awesome fights that went the distance.

the fact that Floyd isn't a huge puncher may very well be an indication that this fight could be exciting because of their styles. we could see them let it all out and be back and forth.

Floyd has shown he can be hit with big punches in his last few fights, like against cotto, against mosely, maidana,.......... pac has the ability to hit mayweather if he has a high offensive output. that could lead to pac eating clean counters as we see with all his fights with marquez.

that's what I like about this fight, the styles on paper makes it exciting. I don't see this fight being boring. maybe it will be less than we hope, but i'm not sure if it could be boring. we will see I guess

I think you're crazy for thinking this isn't 2 matches regardless of who wins the first. I don't even care what any paper work says as none of it says "rematch ONLY if mayweather wins the first". I'd bet my life saving this goes two fights. Who would mayweather turn to after this since he's retiring after 1 more fight? Kahn? Yeah, that'll break the Internet

It's not unheard of for corruption in sports with officials. Recently it's happen with NBA and soccer. It's often been speculated with boxing/mma. no one here is going to be able to offer any solid proof of judges being paid off for a fight a few months away. I can't speak for everyone but I think the general consensus is "if it happen, I wouldn't be surprised at all' more then bringing awareness to a scandal.

meh, I don't like to make statements on things ahead of time

I judge them one at a time, independently, AFTER it's happened.

if a fight is close, it's not controversial. it should only be called controversial if one fighter absolutely won and the judges gave it to the guy who clearly lost.

like the first Bradley/pac fight. everyone I talked to said pac won practically all the rounds. but when I watched it myself, it was a lot closer than what people were alluding to. I still felt pac won, but man, it was pretty close

I question a lot of people's ability to be unbiased

making predictions on the result is fine.

what i meant is making predictions about the athlete paying people off to get the W??

I wouldn't waste my breath. unless they have a history of controversy surrounding their career, then yea, it's reasonable. but that's not the case with these two athletes

btw, I guess mayweather can choose to rematch even if he wins. but i don't see it. unless the fight was very close or controversial, i don't see him rematching, especially if it is a dominating win for him

if you say it after the fact everyone would just accuse you of being biased or mad. Predicting it before hand is the safe play. That way if one fighter dominates and the judges award it to the other person, you can say I called it months ago and not sound like its sour grapes

The boxers won't pay anyone, they would either be paid to take a dive (which I doubt either would do), or gangsters will pay officials.

it's biased/mad pre or post fight to me

coming up with theories out of thin air is not my thing I guess. I have a tinfoil hat, but I only bring it out once every 100 years
