I found it in a very small creek. almost too small for a fish this large. I have seen others before. let me try and snag another pic.

I collected some stones with the fish. they had a ton of algae and growth on it. it is all gone today. im assuming he ate it because its either him or the dace. it kind of bit a small earthworm but didn't eat it. it looks to have a full stomach not emaciated at all.

itll come around, they pick at algae, prey on small fish, insects, etc. my stoneroller eats tilapia before anything else now lol. he still picks at the algae on the tank, but mostly waits for me to start dropping fish to my coosae bass haha

From those last picture I will concur with MN that it is a white. The shape of the head and grey coloration make it clear, was just hard to tell from the first pictures. Still no threat to your dace, but expect it to get 16-24" if properly cared for :).

I think in the beginning it was stressed. I took that pic right after acclimating it. I can't believe that fish can attatin that size. Its from a very small creek where the deepest pool was at most 2 feet. Its about a mile away from the saw mill river. I have seen these fish before usually one or two at a time vs the hundreds of dace that collect in pools.

I've found large schools of whites in 6" of water in 1' wide feeder creeks at times, my guess is they're either stunted or more than likely the adults find their way to deeper water in wider creeks.

There is no such as stunted white suckers in feeder creeks. Adults typically spawns in feeder creeks then migrates back to the lake/river after they're done with spawning. I've found 16-25" ones in tiny creeks during spawning times.

Odd coloration for a white, awfully brown. We need more pics from the OP to positively ID it.
you don't notice the three faded black spots on the body? That's one of the traits of white suckers.
