Well.....as the title says, what's a good price point for tanks of this size? I've found a couple acrylic 125g tanks for sale locally for $400 a piece and I'm just not sure what to offer for them. They both include the stand and actually a 55g sump, protein skimmer, and two different pumps is included in the 2nd one. My Oscar really needs an upgrade so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you wait long enough your bound to find a dollar a gallon. Its harder for acrylic but not impossible, I regularly see a dollar a gallon up to 180 gal tanks in my area on craigslist every now and then. Too bad all my space is already occupied though.

Yeah $1 per gallon is tough to find where I live. There's a 225 for $300 but that's the best deal I've seen in a long time. Should I start my negotiation at $1 per gallon or is that a little too low to offer?

I actually finance all my fish tanks through buying and selling other aquariums. later today I'll be picking up a 180 glass with stand and all accessories for 250$ and I will manage to sell it all for around 700$. that's for a glass aquarium. I bought a 300 gallon acrylic nit to long ago for 150$. for a 180 I would happily pay 400$ for everything because you won't have a problem reselling it for 600$ if you don't like it

Interesting. I was originally looking for something in the 125g-180g range but it seems like this 225 for $300 might be a good deal? It's tank+stand and maybe I could get him down to 250 and possibly sell for more if I end up not liking it

You found some damn good deals. I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait it out or jump on one now

you can never lose on 6' aquariums for under 300$, I would buy it

Thanks for the insight. It's my first big tank (largest has been 45 gallon) and I was dead set on a 125g but this one looks like a deal and the dimensions are roughly the same with obviously the height and width being larger. I'm sure I could handle. The guy has a 180g sump for 100 bucks also so I'm thinking about trying to get him to include it. It might be overkill but I'm trying to do things right.

geez 250 gallon with a 180 gallon sump, offer 350$ for sump included and you have a 1000$ setup
