Ripsaw catfish shedding slime?

It could be, or maybe they just feel no need to afraid anything at that size.
Yup, IME, most of my catfish act like nocturnal, and some of them, I don't even know when they feed just found them with full belly in the morning.

Neat, I'll just feed him when the lights goes then and hopes he eats. He rarely ever leaves his spot and even when foods fall on him he still doesn't move. Also the slime thing stopped.

I raised the sponge filter he always hides under up so that he can easily leave/enter it without jamming himself in, and then I went to feed the tank. I poured food over his spot and in my amazement I saw him eat a few bloodworms!

He started shedding slime again. He looks okay though

Congrats! they indeed love worms....

Do you know what would be the best food for him? I have to pour the worms right over him just so he can eat. I would like to try some API shrimp pellets that I give my koi.

Perhaps he is taking the acclimation hard. It'd be unusual but not unheard of. It may take up to a few weeks.

Or your water is either wrong for him (too soft or too hard or pH is unstable as it is in very soft water) or your ammonia and nitrite and nitrate are wrong.

It's unlikely but it may also be sufficiently sickened by a pathogen that your older fish got used to and developed an immunity to.

Maybe the pathogen part may be correct, but right now he doesn't look to bad. I got the rip saw to eat some of the pellets, but I also so him pass them through his gill plate. I know he is eating them and Last night I saw him cruising around the tank once I turn the room lights on though he swim back into his hiding place with my sun cat. I got him plump, but not fat on worms and pellets
