Pike cichlid identification help

I was at the local shop today and they had this labeled as "Red pike cichlid". It was about 10-12 inches and they were asking $115.

The lighting makes it difficult but it seems to be the red atabapo 1's that have been coming in lately.

Yep $115 is going rate. At least a 90g for a female for life. Males do get bigger. Preferably a larger tank the better for these guys.

Females around 11-12", males get around 14-16". For the males you want an aquarium with least 24" front to back. The smallest tank that you can get like that is a 120g (48X24x24).

Great advice. Or get a 6 foot 125 as an absolute minimum.
