I'm thinking of getting discus in my 150 gallon but I don't know if I can with my fish already in it. Here's what fish I have currently. 1 ornate bichir 7" one Delhezi bichir 3-4" one black ghost knife 4-5" one African brown knife 4-5" a sunshine pleco 4-5" one pictus catfish 5" let me know your opinions please.

I personally would not add Discus because of the ornate bichir which I currently have 2 at the 17 inch mark, and one is very nippy at times that would stress the Discus out Imo. Secondly wouldn't want to have my prized Discus looking ragged.

hmmm... In my limited experience, and reading about them, Discus are easily irritated and intimidated by other fish. Whether they are bigger, just busy swimmers, mildly aggressive, whatever. I've seen them scared of big schools of neons. They are also likely to be out competed for food. They are slow grazers.

Could I put them in a 60 gallon that has 3 Knifefish? The tank is 48" x 12" would that be big enough?

Imo as stated above it would be too much busyness especially after lights out, BGK are very active during that time.

I have a 12" BGK in with my discus and they all seem to be getting along great. No signs of stress or any fin nipping.
