Cool fish, how is their swimming style? Would they swim fast enough to compete for food in a community tank with commons/comets/koi of similar size?

They swims very smoothly but their eyesight isn't that good. I hasn't introduce them to the goldfish tank yet since these ones came from Walmart and they need to grow a little bigger because there's a larger mudminnow in the goldfish tank. I managed to got another nymph goldfish.

aren't nymphs considered runts ? you should try to get jikins or some quality comets

No, nymphs are not runts, just cull/less quality ones. A inferior cull, yes but a man's junk is another man's treasure. I'm just growing them out to just prevents the mudminnows to prey on them.

Yes I've looked at them, the price on them is a bit too high for me at this moment and I'm not sure if I want any expensive fish outside. Last year a bear came in and wiped out the entire goldfish/koi populations in the pond. I'll add jikins and wakins once I build a greenhouse.

My House!
Your goldfish are adorable! They look like black bug eyed versions of my comet x fantail hybrids, fat bodied but single tailed. :D
