Top bar will be 2" h x 6" w, if i do it like this, will that be strong enough??

Yes that makes sence the only thing I would do differently on the top is either
1- use more rebar
2- use mesh

Yea my space thing caused me an issue today. Online i found an offer for an 860L tank with a base crack (easy to fix) and stand, 8 smaller tanks (40-90L) with stands/shelves and filters for all this.

it was a half hours drive away and would only cost me R2000 ($140 or 1100 norwegian krone)
so dissapoint ;(

your project looks to be epic!! any plans for fish?

Not decided on fish yet, but if i can find some Cichla, i might buy them. Maybe some big Oscars.
