As far as the looks are concerned, no reason why you couldn't build a nice wooden box around the fiberglass. That's what I'd do ... build a 2x4 stand to raise it up, then wrap the whole thing in a nice oak and stain in.
Have people cracked these drilling them? I just went to town with a hole saw on my 270 without issue.
I drilled my 600 with no issue last night but I wasn't sure beforehand didn't want to crack it
I used a regular hole saw bit....marked my bit spot and started from the outside slowly....got about halfway then went from the inside out till it was almost all the way through....switched back to the outside and done......let the drill do the work don't apply a lot of preasure......wasn't hard at all
