Arowana swims at the bottom part of aquarium

First an arowana that size should not be kept in a 20 long

Second the water looks cloudy which im guessing is from lack of filteration to keep up with bioload or like stated before the tank isnt fully cycled

Third no offense but considering your keeping a silver arow with some sort of goldfish/carp clearly states you know nothing about this fish.....you are going to need large tank to house that silver arowana.... somewhere around 300 gallons depending on footprint.

As for now i would upgrade as soon as possible and do multiple water changes a week

Try to upgrade to the biggest aquarium u can ..... if its too small please find a new home for the arowana

Theses fish can easily reach 3 feet in captivity

Some close to 18-24 inches within 1-1.5 years with good water quality

From the photo I only notice what looks like a power head with an intake tube not only is aquarium too small, current possibly too strong. Like stated above try to return the Silver Aro back to lfs asap.

best bet is to return the fish, and start researching best you can.

There is no happy scencario in this case, at best you could add bottled bacteria to lower the ammonia; but even then i can't see an adequate sized filter in there; bigger tank is also needed.

This fish requires a tank the size of a small vehicle which you are clearly not ready for.
