Can I put a juvenile salvini & juvenile Jack Dempsey in a 40 Breeder til I get a bigger tank & if so how long?

You probably wouldn't want to keep them together in there for more than year or so, but you could probably keep the Jack Dempsey in there for a long time by its self because it is a slow grower

A salvini will beat your dempsey to bits if it gets a size advantage, I would be careful

I wouldn't put another jack Dempsey. I think you're more likely to see aggression with two of the same species instead of two different species.
However, salvini are nortoriously nasty fish so keep that in mind.
If the 40 gallon is a long term thing and you only have one of the fish right now I wouldn't add another fish.
