Quite frankly. You'll get lots of satisfaction with any of the larger specie. Captive bred & wild caught. It's what makes poly keeping fun.

I will say, the lower jaws grow on you. I started with all UJs, starting with a senegal and an ornate, but decided to roll the dice and picked up an endli- which has recently turned into adding a congicus to my collection. There's just something about LJs, maybe it's that they look more primitive and you get the impression of a true predator? I can't really put my finger on it, but you'll get sucked in just like the rest of us!
I started with a couple of sen and ornate , they are protty active, then i got a cb endli which it was really lazy, delhazi and palmas polli are active too i got a couple of them, the most active lower jaw i own now is the volta, but since i took out all decors and just left a sand my cb endli became more active. So it really depends on the fish personality.
Yeah I'm already getting sucked in! I've already decided to get 2 of them, and am more strongly considering the larger species and making the tank bigger. I'll probably end up with a basement full of Polys

My start into poly world was upper jaws. I started with a delhezi and sen, then came the albino sen, gold dust and weeksii. I finally decided to keep the del and weeksii but the urge for more hit and I ended up with another gold dust, and also a palmas palmas and teugelsi. That was good for a while and then I decided i wanted a Koliba lap... Before long my stock was two upper (weeksii, teugelsi) and two lowers (endli, koliba) with another lower jaw on the wish list... (Not a congicus!)
I think a drug habit would be more economical, but this is a lot more rewarding! lol
Wish I had a basement to call my own so I could stuff it with tons of fish, but unfortunately I live at sea level so I'm stuck with the office being converted into the "offish".
