get to posting up some behind the scenes bro! This thread needs your setups in here!
Coming soon: I'm currently building a filtration system for our little Koi spa conversion. As I sit in the pit I'm calling my filter house I've got one 30 gallon RFF for major sediment to collect. I am trying to decide if this spa is too small for the size of the barrels I using for a sump - 55 gallons. Now the biofilter is where I am dragging. I've got another 55 gallon HDPE barrel. I'm considering a moving bed bio filter, perhaps separating the bottom for K2 or bioballs (which I already have) and the top for a brush filter , JMat, Matala or something less expensive. I'm trying to keep the filter house small so it's easier to heat. It gets cold up here @ 7400' asl. I'm also going to do an in-line water heater and an insulated cover for Winter.
Dog is uninterested. Maybe I'll have better luck with the Monster Fish Keepers.
There is a 1" bulkhead in the bottom for clean-out.
The RFF is on the right. Nothing is plumbed yet, except for the dry fit stand-pipe skimmer and the SLO (solids lift outflow). They connect together in this setup and go into the RFF (radial flow filter).
This will be a pump in sump setup. I still need to find a place for the other 55 gallon barrel with the MBBF.
