Even when broken up into smaller pieces, Hikari Massivore is still messy when my bichirs eat them. The back instructions say "will not cloud water if used correctly".

Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold states on front of bag, "Nutrient Rich Yet Won't Cloud Water".

Has anyone used both and can say Sinking Cichlid Gold is less messy? or are they both just as messy? Thank you

I wish Hikari made a pellet that was in between Sinking Carnivore and Massivore. The polys are at that point where the carnivore is too small and the Massivore fits in their mouths but they chew it a little and make a mess. This is one reason I have been using the Northfin jumbo 6mm, because it is the right size for the fish at this time. Another thing is the smell that massivore and sinking carnivore produce when fed heavily. The water will just reek afterwards.

How can the carnivore be too small? Is it a choking hazard? If they have to chew, does it mean its too big?

My large polys end up with a lot of sand in their mouths when going after the little carnivore pellets. They wont choke on the Massivore since it softens up in the water but most of my 'medium' sized polys (13-14") work at the massivore a little especially the laps and teugelsi. The endli and ansorgii really have no issues with it
