I realize these are not everyone's cup of tea, but was wondering if anyone else keeps them.

My two.

I really like the look, don't have any myself but think they look pretty cool

I love them, the only reason I traded mine off was to get the absolute best from them, they'd need a species only tank. IME, they are a bit more submissive than a normal finned Oscar. However when I get the room, I would definitely dedicate a 100 gallon to 1 or possibly 2. Good luck with them, they're beautiful!

The fish in the first photo has been with me for about 4 years and is in a 75 with 3 sd and the second a few months in a 55g. I may try them together in a 125 when the juvie gets a little bigger.

I have a long finned albino tiger oscar that I just picked up from a LFS. Although I can't post pictures yet, he seems to be very friendly with my chocolate cichlid.

Nice fish! I remember my LFS having about 50 baby long finned oscars in a tank. Awesome sight. If I had a single oscar tank I would get a veil tailed or long finned, but because mine has to coexist in a SA/CA community, I opted for the normal short finned because I heard other fish can nip its fins making it look quite bedraggled.

The first one is beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen an adult longfin before.
Thanks, I will have had the fish four years in January. One of the first fish I ever got.

I had the older one in with a salvini for a while. The sal was quite nippy, and by the time the oscar turned around it had vanished back to its hiding spot. The fish was actually purchased from a small chain that does not even sell fish anymore as an assorted oscar with tigers and lutinos. I wasn't sure it was a veil, but it had a noticeably longer tail than the others.
