if aggression is your concern, putting a Salvini in a 5g will only make it worse. Give it space and maybe it will calm down

Im gonna keep him in the 15 with the butterfly and put the Betta and danios in the 5. The platies don't seem to be targeted so ill wait and observe to see if he also wants them dead

1. Salvini will never grow out in a tank that small. The bigger the tank, better the growth.
2. Salvinis in a small tank will be aggressive. In a larger tank not so much.
3. Salvinis get HITH and/or bloat EASILY when stressed. A small tank will do that.
4. Diet-make sure it's eating pellets or a balenced diet.
5. Good luck.

I hope so. I know a bit about HITH and how to try and avoid it, bloat is just the right foods and right amounts. Popeye i have not really seen though. Would clean water be an aid in prevention?

Bloat is normally a symptom of stress. My old male 7 inch salvini was quite mad, he was that bad he didn't swim away from a net he would just attack it, ( easy to catch) but there does seem to be a large amount of variation between individuals, so hopefully yours will be more laid back.
