Sorry swami, miss read thanks, I know like so many large cichlids they can be a handful but why did you get rid ?
I moved away to college back then and had to sell all my big fish/big tanks. Otherwise I would still have him to this day, loved that fish. Raised him from about 2-3" to probably 11" or so.

Every considered getting another ?
I would love to, I still don't have the space at the moment. If I were to get anotehr I would either do a species tank and have it as a wet pet, or get a 180+ gallon tank and do a CA community. I had my last one in a 125 and he could have used a bit more space I think.

Just returned to the forum, and thought I would post an update......
He is still grumpy and bad tempered but I can put my hands in and he leaves me alone,,, anyone else not so lucky.

Thanks, I've had him a while now, I have a 14 inch plec and a 6 inch platedoras armatulus catfish both hide in a large pot.
