Nutrients aren't the only thing fungus provide ;)

I've always been into growing plants. As a young child, I used to throw pinto beans into the dirt to watch them grow. As I got older, I always had house plants and outdoor plants everywhere.

Even have this ivy growing out of my tank and just hanging.

It's always been in our family I guess, my dad was raised on a small farm growing up. My mom just loves plants, so we all kind of just respected them.

My mom has a huge garden, I mainly go for guacamole with everything grown in her many acres.
She grows mushrooms as well, and recycles a lot of them for mushroom compost, which somehow is really good nutrients for plants.

Some plants for the nook.

I love a landscaped yard.....but I find it hard to get out there and keep it nice looking. I've been struggling to try and finish the front of my house. Got as far as ripping out all the old and ugly.......having a hard time getting back out there to finish.

Maybe what u need is a well planned, low maintenance yard with such plants as :Adams needle yucca, cold hardy cacti, harlequin plant, thinbark hickory, milkweed, black eye Susan,or other hardy plants

When I was in college I use to do landscaping/hardscaping during the warmer months. Now that I have some land I've been more focused on growing things to eat. I have a pretty large garden that I've had going the last few years. Everything I grow in it I start from seeds except for my Tomatoes. It's a lot of work but the end results are totally worth it. It's always nice knowing where your food came from! I also have quite a few house plants along with fully planted reptile enclosures ( i don't believe in fake plants!).

Prepping the garden last spring.
