Here is an update after daily benadine swabs, 2nd round of triple sulfa and 3 out of 3 doses of kanaplex. Also gave him a dose of metroplex today.

He hasn't eaten in 1-1.5 weeks. Won't touch shrimp, tilapia, or pellets. Appears that his abdomen is slightly swollen, despite his lack of eating. The swelling stops right where the wounds are located. Stomach wound still looks deep(to about 3 layers in. Now kind of grayish, but is surrounded by a red ring. Back wound appears to be healing.

He was having some buoyancy problems today. Back end floating a little or a lot. Other times he is able to be on the bottom(or at least his stomach touching the bottom.

Is there a way to test the main tank for TB?
Ways to disinfect?

it can be tested for with a microscope, slides and acid fast stains. They actually sell slides that have an acid fast stain positive to compare to. To do this you need to make a slide from the organs from the fish. The bacteria also form a lot of granulates throughout the intestines and organs so a squash prep would work.

If there is TB in a tank suspected or confirmed the tanks fish should either be destroyed or allowed to live out their life without adding any more fish. Once tank is emptied clean heavily with bleach.

He is belly up as of this morning. Thinking about using clove oil. :/

I took the main tank down and bleached everything.
What can I do for the sand and the driftwood? Should I bleach that too?

No point in testing. I say get clove oil and put the ornate down.

Would throw the sand and driftwood if it was me. Not worth it and difficult to treat all of it completely.

damn. that sucks. just bought $90 worth of new sand and driftwood.

He was in with the driftwood, but not the sand. However, the sand was in with the driftwood. Would this still cross contaminate?

Thank you everyone for all the love and support through this. It's a sad day. He did his best though and fought for 2 months.

how do I get tested for fish TB? I might or might not have siphoned some of the water with my mouth. and got some water in my mouth. a couple of times.
