Lolz, its like asian, they all look the sameAm I racist? Cause I think all polys look alike lol.
Yeah eagerly awaiting the results. So far they are thinking the sp.dabola is a seperate species and not a hybrid. They are supposedly doing tests on koloton/koliba tooAs u are aware. There's been mentioning on Facebook recently regarding scientific testing for sp. dabola are in process, and maybe other potentials. Exciting stuff!
HahaAm I racist? Cause I think all polys look alike lol.
Diff because they look diff but scientifically the same fish. From what i understand volta endlis are different fish from guinea endlis, same as guinea laps vs nigerian lap, different fish, imo
Different from catch location/country/river/looks. Unless there is a new finding that they are the same fish. If you know something care to shareYeah eagerly awaiting the results. Endli dabola and faranah are both guinea endli. Its just two different catch locationsWhat is a guinea endli? Looks like a Dabola endli on bottom right and faranah endli on top. What is the difference?
Polyaddict86 headshots look amazing. Dabola looks super cute in that photo....even though I know it is a meanie sometimes
From my unserstanding is endli are all the same fish DNA wise. Same goes for lap. We call them different because all nigerian laps mostly look like x and the same for faranah lap or bv endli.Okay so what I read in the past few posts is:
Bv and Nigerian endli are the same.
Koliba and kolton are the same
Faranah lap and guinea lap are the same
So these have the same DNA(genotype)? However environmental regional variations account for change in color and other phenotypic(physical) characteristics? Is this right?
Man that's cool that people are testing all this. How am I supposed to come up with a research interest for marine biology grad school, if all the cool stuff is taken. Lol.
Couldnt correct you since i dont know. All we have are ooinions. Its why i asked the question. at one point congi were considered endli so who knows how much more is yet to changeJ jaws7777 i now understand what you mean of same fish.
Endlis are endlis and laps are laps,
Volta endlis, faranah endli, dabola endli are just varients under endlicheri
Guinea lap, faranah lap, koliba, koloton are just varients under lapradei
There are not enough testing between varients for them to have their own specie.
Correct me if im wrong pls
