From what i understand volta endlis are different fish from guinea endlis, same as guinea laps vs nigerian lap, different fish, imo
As u are aware. There's been mentioning on Facebook recently regarding scientific testing for sp. dabola are in process, and maybe other potentials. Exciting stuff!
Yeah eagerly awaiting the results. So far they are thinking the sp.dabola is a seperate species and not a hybrid. They are supposedly doing tests on koloton/koliba too

Different from catch location/country/river/looks. Unless there is a new finding that they are the same fish. If you know something care to share

Okay so what I read in the past few posts is:
Bv and Nigerian endli are the same.
Koliba and kolton are the same
Faranah lap and guinea lap are the same
So these have the same DNA(genotype)? However environmental regional variations account for change in color and other phenotypic(physical) characteristics? Is this right?
Man that's cool that people are testing all this. How am I supposed to come up with a research interest for marine biology grad school, if all the cool stuff is taken. Lol.

Endli dabola and faranah are both guinea endli. Its just two different catch locations
From my unserstanding is endli are all the same fish DNA wise. Same goes for lap. We call them different because all nigerian laps mostly look like x and the same for faranah lap or bv endli.
Koloton and koliba are thought to be laps as well. Theres confusion if there are a seperate species from lap or just a lap variant. Also debates on wether they are two different fish or the same thing just a variant from each other

Couldnt correct you since i dont know. All we have are ooinions. Its why i asked the question.
at one point congi were considered endli so who knows how much more is yet to change
