Why you want to risk injury/death to 3-400$ fish by a $15 fish is beyond me. I personally think that aros should be kept solo. They are not a fish that you can just goto lfs and replace on the go for average person. At least i dont have that kind of cash.

It's different, if I'm correct he is from asia where aros are a dime a dozen pretty much. Although you do need a very large tank to cohab any aggressive fish

Irrespective of the price... I like peace in my aquarium....
It is also nice to have something else and not just one fish...

The only SA Chidlids I would consider are severums and geos... they will not hurt any arowana... as long as arowana doesnt hurt them you fine.
If you have substrate in your tank, geos do an excellent job of moving it around and not allow pockets of bacteria to form
The rays are also a good combo if they grow up from small with the aros and to my amazement clown loaches make good colourfull tanks mates

By the way.. another fish i have had no problem with together with arowanas is a flagtail but here you have to watch it doesnt suck the rays slime coat if you also have rays

My super red is with a 24cm flagtail and no hassels
Again.. you need a big tank..

how about an oscar of 4in only 1 and a Severum!and a G Gourami!

Not all of them are ideal without a big tank. Severums could work if your aro isn't aggressive.

Tank size is an important factor!

It's 200 gallon il upgrade it for much bigger soon like this new year! For now my fish r small RTG being 7-8inches! And I'm planning to add a golden Severum of 4inches or an oscar of same length!

Keep maybe only severums, blue Acara are also pretty tame.
