Very nice looking fish guys! I'm loving the colours - I can tell you with assurance that unless you guys both have massive, massive hands, and your fish are bigger than they appear in the photos, the colour on those specimens at that size is really, really spectacular.

Much better than mine at comparable size.

Here's some news that should get you both excited: my males colour improved 10 fold from 3" to 4"+.

I think my guy is spectacular and yours could end up putting him to shame!

---------

I'm really enjoying my GT's. I've had them almost two months now.

I'll try to post a video on my 135g renewal thread...

Cool, we have brothers :D

How big is your other GT? 4-5"? You going to separate them or try and throw them together?
Yah bro we can update and compare them huh that's awesome
I have one that's like 1" lol and the other one is like 3-4" but I might get rid of that one bc I want the new one to not have any competition or try to breed soon since I think the one I have is a female.

I would think so, but I guess it depends on how bad they want to keep those genetics to themselves. Haha!
I guess you are right man, I can only imagine I bet there breeder females look just as good !

I've been trying to get some decent pics, but these guys just won't sit still. They are very active and one has taken dominance over the others. I'm glad I picked up a 125 for them. A 4 foot tank would have been no good.

I added some sand to the tank. I was torn on going with sand again. Love the way it looks but hate how it can scratch the glass. This tank isn't perfect so what the hell. I haven't mixed any gravel with it yet. Waiting to source some boulders and go from there. Also borrowed some wood from another tank and added a 4' LED light which I think is going to workout good. Provides some darker spaces in the corners of the tank.

Can't wait till they get 4-5" and hopefully one day you can post pics of them 2-3 year later and see them in their true full grown glory :D

I am kind of surprised that even with the light color substrate their color is still really good. I could only imagine what happens if they are on dark substrate.

bolt color like this makes me thing of spawning dress. My initial group started spawning at 2.5"

Thanks, me too. I hope they continue to look better with age. I hope at least one of them is still around in 3 years.
I don't know why, but from my experience, darker substrate doesn't necessarily better colors with GT. It's really a combination of a lot of things, but they show their best when they are happy and comfortable. I'm sure it does factor a little, but not a ton.

Here's my larger GT in two different tanks. Same coloring. Like the sandy bottum in this tank, I will be adding various rocks and pebbles darker in color. I hope to find some nice ones that are dark blue/gray or black even. But black background on both
