Thank you everyone for sharing pictures and links. This benefits all. I know I dug through a lot of threads and missed a lot. Please keep the discussion going.
In my short experience keeping these guys I have noticed that they fart a lot. At first I thought my gravel had gone anaerobic and giving off gas bubbles but upon further observation, it's coming out of their arse. There....my contribution to dorado keeping.
Find the fart in the video.

Haha... I've not noticed that, not that I paid attention. Maybe mine does it too but it hasn't jumped at me yet.

Just wanted add real quick as I just looked at his stock list to look at a catfish he has that looks interesting, he says his are brassi but that they are from Brazil which is where frankies are from.

Idk about where you are and how they get in there, I believe you're in Asia in which case you guys get all the good stuff lol, but in the u.s I believe there was one batch of true brassi's, it was how DB got his first one and then later on picked another one up from another hobbyist who got it from the same batch. And then there is the Jakob guy, idk if he's in the u.s or how he acquired it, other wise idk of any other cases in the u.s.
Does Jeff's list say "cb" as the last time? Captive bred may make the country of origin less important.

Jakob's stats say Iceland. Greenerinks is Shanghai, China. You need a laptop :) Phone's limiting.

Wow. Only three cases you have come across of which one is disputed (Jakob's). That's mighty rare.

Indeed, it says aquaculture bred which I believe means for food, in everything I've read, that means Frankie. And of course that is only what is reported, there could be more out there, but none I've heard of in the u.s.

I'm curious what fugupuff fugupuff 's possible input would be

Picture is blurred because they are swimming like bullets. Not really....I don't know how to use this D5200. My pics are either too dark or blurry. Can someone please tell me what to set the App and Speed? Trying to shoot with M (manual).

When I shoot my ATF, on my dslr I try to stand about 5-6 feet back from the tank make sure im squared up to glass. This helps prevent the distortion. Then I use the shutter speed priority mode (Should be designated "S") on your mode wheel. And then experiment with different shutter speeds until you can get clear shots. Shutter Priority will auto adjust App, and ISO to match in relation to the selected shutter speed. Also, the lighting I find makes a big difference in how the shots come out. So depending, you might want to try moving the light fixture forwards or backwards on the tank, to get optimal results.

Just tried what you suggested. All the photos came out dark. I think you are correct about the lighting. The tank light is not bright enough. I'll try adding a shop light next time.
My old Canon Power Shot was so much easier to use. Too bad it broke.

Even if you have some additional lights in the room that can be left on that will also help. And another camera setting to try, is to zoom as far out as you can get cause that will let the most light hit the sensor on your camera. (You can move closer to the tank if you end up being really far zoomed out)
