THank goodness! What kind is the inactive one? Looks like a faranah endli to me, but my IDing is not very good. Is the inactive one your only inactive poly? do they each go through phases or moods?
Shes always been prett lazy and now with more space and rocks to chill behind shes almost never out front unless the lights are off. Shes definitly the most inactive out of the group, the dabola endlicheri i had was the same way. Black volta and cb arent too active either but they hang out up front most of the time so that makes up for it. Everyone else is pretty active the koloton is a maniac he goes into spurts where i think hes trying to swim through the glass lol

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 figure this may interest you since we spoke about it in the past. I had some free time today as my daughters fever finally looks lije its breaking. Soi moved the water lettuce out of the sump. I think the bioloa is just too high for it to put a dent in nitrates, it isnt doing squat ! Amd i was getting algae growth all over the sump.

Moved it to the 150. Since i threw in 10 plants a couple of weeks ago i noticed nitrates were significantly lower as of last night they were 5ppm.

Also picked up a cheap submersible filter to use with the purigen. I think the gph on the reactor is too low to really make an impact if i run it full blast the beads dont tumble amd clog the area where the water exists, so we'll see how it goes.

Angelphish Angelphish kno4te kno4te thoughts ? (Since you guys are nitrate freaks too)

Seems like you got a response from the plants. The roots look good. I think if you keep from overcrowding it'll work. Algae will be something to deal with.

It can't be that slow, as nitrate filter pumps can't exceed 50gph, but they still lower nitrates significantly.

Just because someone has an obsession doesn't mean they're a freak.

While we're on the topic, what's the hold up on your nitrate filter?

Was confused on why it had such a small impact on the big tank with much more plants and such a good impact on the smaller tank. I was thimling the bioload was just to large on the 300.

It can't be that slow, as nitrate filter pumps can't exceed 50gph, but they still lower nitrates significantly.
Could be how they process the waste ? Bb are processing the nitrate but the polymers in the purigen pricess organic compounds ? Dunno

Ha look whos talking !

Nice :). I've used water lettuce on my dwarf snakehead tanks in the past for nitrate reduction and top cover / light reduction. Should work a feat in poly tanks as well. Ive got a bit still growing in my planted 75g, but need to keep giving it away, as having the aerial advantage it can outcompete my submerged plants both for nutrient and light.

At one time it took over the whole surface and the trailing roots provided cover for rosy barb fry. Pretty soon i was overpopulated with rosy barbs and plants, and underpopulated with the dwarf snakes. Lol.

The seller I ordered from chose 2 month shipping, so I have to wait a bit.
