Hopefully that'll solve your issues once it's fixed
Got the grounding probe in yesterday so I am measuring 0 volts at this stage. Just need to get a new temperature controller. Debating if I will turn the powerhead back on.

Good thing is this guys appetite is amazing and his personality is really coming out. He recognizes his "food plate" and tries to get it through the glass. When I was testing the volts in the water he came to the top and was hovering trying to eat the probes. I had to feed him so he would back off. Between some solid growth and great personality I really hope this was the issue and he heals. Don't have a ton of time for maintenance but trying to do 50% WC daily for the next week to help him heal.

Be careful with such a vigorous wc schedule, it may cause you to lose bb and end up having to cycle which I'm sure you know means ammonia spike

What would you recommend? 25% per day or every other day?

If you really are going to do it daily I'd say no more than 20, I probably wouldn't even do that much myself, especially since your water is good as is

you won't cause your cycle to crash even with 90% daily water changes... I don't know why people insist in spreading false information on the forums..
There are cheap meters and youtube videos on it. There is debate about voltage but it has been proven to be linked to HITH/Lateral Line Disease and other diseases which is why I took the steps I took. All I could find is that either no voltage is acceptable or less than 50v. The real danger is current but that is harder to measure and the relationships with volts lets most come to a reseasonable conclusion. In my case I went from 7v up to 100v depending on what was plugged. Clearly a problem.

The grounding probe gets rid of any voltage so mine is 0 but it is just a band-aid if you dont get rid of the equipment causing the issue.

Excuse my possible ignorance then. I've not read anything supporting your claim however. Do you have any links to share to help educate me otherwise? Which would also be helpful to the OP.

moe214 moe214 i actually there is a lot of debate on this. Seen folks adversely against large WC even like 50% or higher, while others believe 90% will do nothing. I'd just do what's you're comfortable with. For me I'll probably stick to 60% every other day.
