they are cleaning the rock as a potential spawning site. The female will lay eggs and the male will fertilize them. Not sure how long it will be since it could be tomorrow or 3 weeks from now. Once eggs are laid the female most likely will hover over them and fan them while the male guards the perimeter of the territory. the eggs should be kind of a amber color for about 3 - 4 days. if they turn white they are not fertile. the eggs will hatch and they will most likely dig a pit where they move the wigglers to. after a few days they should become free swimming. during that time they will make living in this tank very hard for the other 2 and chances are the pair might remove them for you (kill them) if they see them as a threat even though they are on the other side of the tank.

Also a Juripari, Frontosa and GT will all outgrow a 50 gallon tank and should be kept in something bigger for life
Ok thanks! Let's hope for the best! I am still working on building the stand for my 100 gallon tank and I can't wait to move them!

Guys can you please help me?
I have these two fishes which I have been told are GT. They are of same age but one is considerably larger than the other. Though I think that the bigger one is male, can someone please confirm?
How often will the female lay eggs?

I believe you have 2 Short Body GTs. The bigger one I'm pretty sure is a male. I am not sure about the smaller one, but it looks like a male to me. If you can post a picture that shows the vent I can tell you what sex he/she is. Thanks.

Hey guys, I have a question about the EB Acaras birthing tube. It seems to be popping out a lot when there's nothing in the tank that it can breed with now. But there is a seperate tank with my Green Terror in it right next to the tank. Why is the birthing tube popping out so much?20170729_082927_91131.jpg 20170729_082927_79230.jpg 20170729_082927_62650.jpg

Females don't need a male to lay eggs. My female gt laid eggs multiple times before I got her a male.

Guess what? The EB Acara actually laid eggs by itself. I just let the GT in to see what happens.20170729_200025.jpg
