Ordered some freeze drilled krill and will try that. Already have a whole bag of carnisticks so will try that afterwards. At some point I hope to get to NLS pellets.

moe214 moe214 are there any other small whole fish like silversides that are healthy? He loves them and they are whole, so I fell like they are better than just cut filet.

kno4te kno4te thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter may know more about different kinds than me. Some people like catching fish and cutting them up to feed with bones and intestines as well, which may be a bit more natural. You freeze them for a little while first to get rid of any possible parasites or bacteria that's unwanted.

Well he loves the brine shrimp. He took to that immediate and ate like 20 in the first night. Last night I tried floating carni sticks but he didn't take to them. He hit the one piece like 4 times but kept spitting it out. Will try in several days again after letting him go hungry. Will also pick up some samples of other foods.

Sorry...saw the tag but thought was for another thread.

Silversides are fine. I've done smelt before and were taken readily. Can use most frozen fish but as a snack especially the oily ones. Minnows are another good option if can find in bulk frozen from like bait shops. Most of these I have soaked in vitachem.

I stay with tilapia now. Just easy for me to use and find.

A good pellet would be a better choice for a staple food. Probably gotta starve the wolf for a bit and will eventually take it. If not then break the pellets and stuff in some fish.

The fact tat he hit them is a promise that with a short fast the fish would convert. I'd keep at it if it's important to you that the fish switch.

Any whole fish is wa-a-a-y better than a filet. Filet has nothing on a wholesome fish. I catch twenty different kinds in the Gulf of Mexico, with a cast net on shore, mostly several herring species, also anchovy, whiting, jack, snapper, dogfish, pinfish, little pompano, mullet, ladyfish, angelfish, etc.

Proper freezing kills parasites but not bacteria or virus AFAIK.

thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter definitely will keep at it. He's going on almost a week without food and hopefully he takes it. Thinking of picking up some NLS and trying that.

I'm actually in the hospital as my wife just gave birth last night. Once we return home I will give him another try. :)

Thanks moe214 moe214

Well it's been one week now with no food. Still refusing the carni sticks. Trying to decide if I try a different pellet, giver silversides, or wait it out a bit longer.

Can go a bit longer.

Have you tried pellets stuffed in the silversides?
