You pick it up? If so, you know I gotta come see this :)
Tigerfish is one of my favorite species!

Whoever picked it up came up, 600 is a good price for a tigerfish that size, congrats on the new owner.
Just know an ATF that size could go belly up before/during/after transportation. When I sold my 17" VATF, he went belly up almost the whole 45min ride to it' new home. Acclimated and was good till owner sold him, so don't get freaked out if he does.
Yeah ur right, atf are horrible shippers especially when they are big, past 8" or so and they are a game of russian roulette! That's why u don't see big ones being sold or.living past a certain size. It is going to be very difficult to transport that fish without it freaking out!

If I recall, I had to drain about 70% of my 300 because he was running into the wall and freaking out. If driving, I don't think its an issue with transporting (even if it goes belly up, I think it could even be a type of tactic). Shipping via plane could very well be a high risk on the other hand.

Letting him go was the worst decision in the hobby but for $1500.00... I didn't feel as guilty lol

moving any tiger fish can be risky especially when it's a big size over 8 and 9 in. You sold yours for $1,500,? That's expensive price for a big fish.

Yeah thats a big atf, how long did it take to get that big? 17" is a good size, maybe 2 yrs? Nice sized fish, is he still around?
I picked up my VATF around 7-8". 2-3 years later he was old off. Owners 750 sprung a leak within a few months and had a fire sale. Following owner put him with some barramundis and they killed it. That's how I knew the actual size, I believe I sold as 15" but never actually measured.
