Doesnt matter if you go the cheap route or expensive route, the only thing that matters end of the day is the outcome of the tank...

If plants are healthy and thriving they dont care if we threw on T5 shop lights or ADA priced lighting systems lol...

I've personally spent way too much on my planted tanks in general but i look at them as one of the few healthier hobbies i still enjoy...

So definitely no discriminating of systems from me... im not that much of a snob

Yes i agree 100%... If i wasn't in the position i am in i would have went the DIY or cheap route. In fact my lighting rack was DIY becuse i was not paying $200 bucks for a rack. I hear you on that one man.

I just threw 2 T8s in a gutter pipe lined with foil, works for me!

Oh yeah whatever works, I am not the guy to tell you that you need to use some high end equipment. Most of my tanks are pieced together with older used stuff. I look for fish stores that are closing and try to buy as much as i can for dirt cheap. Only 2 out of my 7 tanks are running all new stuff.
