Like I said before those players need to establish their own soapbox platform to express their gripes away from their place of employment. All their current little stunts are accomplishing is pissing off paying customers who will remain indifferent to whatever it is that they are trying to say.

Those players have no damned business even uttering that word....by doing so they are insulting their ancestors who actually knew a thing or two about oppression.

Yes obviously, all non trump supporters support hillary clinton/s. There were candidates other than trump and clinton you know. Besides, maybe they aren't discriminated against, but they're protesting discrimination in the us in general.
So please explain how protesting a song that was written as a tribute to what a certain war was like and now is a symbol of our country and along with a show if respect towards out armed forces ?

They should take their millions and organize protests infornt court houses, jails, prisons, and the like. Please these guys are fruads....everyone of em.

LOL no one ever said racism is limited to white people. Also, the anthem is not for celebrating the army. Service men and women died to preserve our rights even though none of our current wars are for that purpose. If you really want to do something for the service men/women, maybe stop voting for politicians who want to send them to fight in a war that doesn't effect the US. How are they "insulting" their ancestors by showing how sadly, racism is still common in the US. By that logic, African Americans between 1865 and the 1960's were dishonoring their family ancestors by protesting institutional racism. Sure, maybe it's debatable to do it using another platform but they have a valid point. Do you honestly believe in the US everyone is treated equally?

What?....asi if I have to spell it out for you;black people have it better now in this country than they ever have, here or anywhere else. There is no oppression going on,any one of them can go on and do whatever they aspire to in this country if they work hard and don't waste time blaming anyone else for their failures. The overpaid NFL players are great examples of that aren't they?
Racism is alive and well and aint going anywhere but the whole protest thing aint about racism. If it were there wouldn't be thousands of white people paying obscene amounts of money to watch them play football.

Only a tiny fraction make it into the NFL
Hello; yes but it is a few of even this tiny fraction who are doing the protest on national (worldwide) TV. They made this whole disruptive episode what it is. More below.

There is definitely an injustice in our criminal justice system. But its not a racial injustice. Its an economic injustice.
Hello; I happen to live in an area where there is not a big population of folks other than white. Around here it is the poor white trash rednecks that get profiled and pulled over by the police. I was one when young and had run in's with the "justice" system. I recall one day a constable took me in for expired tags. The magistrate and the constable determined the fine to be all I happened to have at the time. Economic injustice.
After working as a helper on a Coca-Cola delivery truck as a teen I determined to find a another way. I somehow made it thru college and became a teacher.
Even now in my 70's I get a bit nervous when followed by a police officer. They were not wrong to target me when a youth because I was headed down the wrong road for a time. I made choice that with hard work and doing without got me to a slightly better place.

So quit disrespecting my flag, anthem, country, or it's service members, you're here like any other employee to do a job.

Hello; This is the main point to me. The players can protest all they wish just not when in uniform and at ballgame I want to watch.

Can you please google the anthem and tell me what the song is about ? Can you please answer the question on what exactly they are protesting by refusing to stand for the anthem ?

Same where i live. Rednecks often get profiled. I grew up in brooklyn and as kids/teens we often hung out in a park. Godforbid a cop caught us drinking...infact one time a cop did and didnt like our attitude...not only did he smack the crap out of us but he also placed us in hand cuffs and walked us home. Not one of our parents were upset...infact they thanked him for not arresting us.

Now today what would happen to this cop ? Mhhh maybe thats the reason arrest numbers are soo high

Swinging this thread away from the protest bs,the Eagles looked good again today against the Chargers. It looked as if the game was in Philly rather than L.A. due to all of the Eagles apparel that was worn by the fans in the seats.

Hello; OK, I guess does anyone know if all the players on any NFL teams are now standing and giving proper respect for the flag??? I heard that the Bears and Packers did last Thursday night.
I have not followed the news or todays games. Has the NFL made any sort of decision?
