I had seriously considered one of the vulture cats for my tank but Im just too broke right now, lol. Bought a car a while back and now am working on a sound system for it.

I think my concern would be with the agression issue of my endli toward the cat more than the competition. But J jaws7777 has more knowledge of mixing cats in with polys.
I know the feeling LOL. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction... as always! :) BUT if I can convince you we can pick up one of each and drive down to Olympia together, get a discount haha

The only issue ive had with cats and polys is my jur getting its butt kicked.

I would absolutely get the vulture. Lots of activity and mine has mixed well with my polys. I dont think it would outcompete them. From what ive noticed is it eats its fill fast but doesnt really gorge itself. I love mine. Fish Tank Travis Fish Tank Travis has two with a fire eel and has no issues.

You could also consider trachy trachy moe214 moe214 could talk more about them.

Another option would Hemisorubim platyrhynchos not much info on them but man they are stunning. I cant wait for mine to put on some size. They have thia iridescent sheen to them that beautiful ans they dont hide.

Like dmd suggested its always a gamble. My theory is cats that are active or hide are better with polys vs cats thar just sit out in the open that occupy the same space as polys...just a guess tho

Go for the vulture u will love it
Pimelodids have always scared me a bit due to size and eating power of the bigger species. The hemisorubim looks like a good alternative. I’ll look around... seems pretty rare! Where did you get yours? If not, I think I can go for one of those vultures! If there’s an issue I can always relocate it to another tank. Thanks bro!

Yep, I’ve got two vulture cats (about 10-11”) and three fire eels (12”, 16” and 18”) in my 220. Definitely a good catfish, and one of the most attractive for its size in my opinion.

OP, btw, you have a 220. The 220 is 72x24x30 while the 210 is 84x24x24.

Now, having put my input in on the vulture catfish being an awesome catfish, I would venture to say you shouldn’t add anything else to the tank due to it being ridiculously overstocked already. I only have about half the mass of fish that you do and my tank is very heavily stocked. My nitrates go crazy before I get to the weekly water change, and then I change out 90-95% of the water every week. From your posts, it looks like you already have six decent sized poly’s and three or four other large fish. In addition, it also sounds like you have another fish or two that you’re already planning to get. If you want to add a vulture cat, or anything else for that matter, I suggest you cut your stocking at least in half before you do. Otherwise, the tank is going to go a bit crazy as everything grows to maturity.
Thanks for the input, bro! You’re right, for now I think I’ll just add the vulture and that’s it. I do realize that stock level is heavy... I’ve calculated my K1 should be able to handle 140g of food/waste daily in addition to 864 cu. in. mattenfilter that can probably do at least 50-60g. plus an FX6 (not sure of bio capacity)... if the nitrates get too insane I can move fish around to other tanks.

You guys are awesome.

With gobies you gotta be careful. Marbled gobies more so. The norm for them in comparison to water cow is they're more territorial and more predatory in the sense they'll take a bigger meal down which makes sense they're heavier bodied and have slightly bigger mouth in comparison to a water cow of equal length. Watercow ime are more active. Both are painfully slow fish. They are built for ambush and that's it. I'd say you can keep them with bichirs, I have. But just be wary. I kept a 12" marbled goby with a 10" sen when I was young and ignorant in a 55. With plenty of smaller oddballs. I did keep them well fed though so maybe that's why no one went missing. I'll note as I got older and more knowledgeable I slowed down feeding and fish would go missing if they were able to. I never had issues with wolves and bichirs. Kept Hoplias species and erythrinus species as well as my one hoplerythrinus with bichirs, never had an issue. Bichirs are literally the one and only type of fish my wolves ignored and would let push them around and be all in their face; anyone else got bit. Didn't show interest in the Trachy so won't add that. What you can add comes down to personal preference. Some quick species that come to mind are medium sized cats like a bolt cat or Asian USD cat, sun cat, blochii, ornate pim. For characins you could do chalceus, SD, odoe, maybe tats, depends what's available. Just keep in mind everything's girth over their length. I could put a 2' ropefish with a 1' wolf, if the wolf wanted to eat it he would.

Note: the 2 CB pbb in the showroom are sausagly chunkers. But 1 has a prominent spoon head (tilted upward) and other is perfect. They may even be 6". Funny how thick these CB pbb get at small sizes.

Yeah, I think I'll hold off on the sleepers for now. The gulping power is scary... Anyway, I'm looking forward to how the Ery will interact with the group. Thanks!

Check the vendor forum (discuss origins) or rapps (www.tangledupincichlids.com) i got mine from rapps
Thanks bro. I'll look online if I can't grab the one here locally... Just gotta wait for payday tomorrow LOL

Dude nice! We'll take as many pics as you can spare! LOL :) Can you grab a pic of the ossa knife? Also is spoonhead a bad thing? I always thought LJ polys get spoonheaded as they get older... Man those PBB are tempting too. They're F1 generation?

Didn't take any photos of the ossa knife. But it's nice.. It looked like this below I found from the net. The only difference was it was black from stress with light stripes.
